"Accelerating Access" devait permettre aux pays en développement un accès aux médicaments aux prix les plus bas, mais aussi de bénéficier d'un soutien technique des agences des Nations Unies (OMS, ONUSIDA) à la mise en place d'un accès national aux traitements antirétroviraux. Deux ans plus tard, les activistes font le bilan : "Accelerating Access" sert avant tout les laboratoires pharmaceutiques qui tirent profit du label des institutions internationales pour conserver un monopole et limiter les baisses de prix.
